As the terminal equipment with the largest electricity consumption, motors are widely used in fans, water pumps, compressors, transmission machinery, etc., and their electricity consumption accounts for more than 60% of the electricity consumption of the whole society. Among them, small three-phase asynchronous motors consume about 35% of the electricity and are the largest consumers of electricity.
Therefore, the development of high-efficiency electric motors is one of the important measures to improve energy utilization. It is very necessary to meet the development needs of our country.
According to Chinese national standard GB18613-2020, the energy efficiency level of electric motors is divided into 3 levels. Among them, Level 1 has the highest energy efficiency, and Level 3 has the lowest energy efficiency. The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) released the motor energy efficiency standard level IEC60034:2016 in 2016. IEC 60034 sets the energy efficiency standard of the motor into five levels: IE1, IE2, IE3, IE4, and IE5. IE5 is currently the highest efficiency level.

In the GB 18613-2020 standard, the first-level energy efficiency level index of China's three-phase asynchronous motor is consistent with the IE5 efficiency, the IE4 efficiency is the same as the second-level energy efficiency level of China's three-phase asynchronous motor, and the IE3 efficiency is consistent with the third-level energy efficiency level of China's three-phase asynchronous motor.
Take our Y81K-1000 ton baler as an example. This machine uses 6 sets of 45Kw 1500rpm motors.
Model | Power KW | Rated Current A | Speed rpm | Efficiency % | Power Supply Specification |
YE3-225M-4 | 45 | 84.4 | 1480 | 94.2 | 380V, 50Hz, 3 Phase |
YE3-225M-4 | 45 | 83.5 | 1490 | 96.3 | 380V, 50Hz, 3 Phase |
Calculated based on the machine running 10 hours a day and 300 days a year. Using YE5 motor saves 18752kwh of electricity per year than YE3 motor.
